MTE Operations are Essential Business

We are in the middle of unprecedented times as the global effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to change how MTE operates. Previously we shared the actions we are taking to limit the spread of the virus inside our factories. However, with each passing day, new challenges arise.

Recently, Governors in California, where MTE products ship from, and Wisconsin, MTE Corporate Headquarters, issued “Stay at Home” and “Safer at Home” orders, respectively, to help control the spread of this virus. As such, only businesses that are deemed essential are allowed to remain open. We are happy to report that MTE is considered an essential business under the Department of Homeland Security’s Critical Manufacturing Sector, which is defined as:

Workers necessary for the manufacturing of materials and products needed for medical supply chains, transportation, energy, communications, food and agriculture, chemical manufacturing, nuclear facilities, the operation of dams, water and wastewater treatment, emergency services, and the defense industrial base.

With that said, on March 30, 2020, Mexico, where MTE products are manufactured, issued a Health Emergency that requires vulnerable employees (over 60 or with underlying health conditions) to stay home. We employ several individuals that fall into this category and realize there may be some impact to the day-to-day business in our factories until we can find temporary replacements. Many of our suppliers are in Mexico as well and could be experiencing the same challenges. We are working tirelessly to minimize any disruptions these new developments may cause.

The health and safety of our employees is our top priority. Without them, we would not be able to provide you with the best-in-class power quality solutions that you are accustomed to. We will continue to comply with all local and federal guidelines as we navigate through this global pandemic.

Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in us. We understand that communication will be vital as we continue to maneuver through these uncertain times. As the circumstances continue to change, rest assured that we will be as transparent as possible.

Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Z. Zakaria VP Sales & Marketing
